You may have heard the name “Kambo remedy”. Chances are that you may not have. Indian culture and intelligence from the past has a lot of impact on the present day world but some of the most useful and intelligent discoveries were forgotten with time. Only when the need comes, we try to recall them. One of such many discoveries is this “Kambo Remedy”. WHAT IS IT?
Kambo is the name of a frog-A giant green monkey tree frog scientifically known as “Phyllomedusa Bicolar”. This is the procedure of secretion from this frog. Point to be noted here is that it is not venomous or dangerous. It’s secretion alone is not capable of causing any illness or death.
· The secretion is treated as medicine but in this means it is not equivalent to pharmaceutical medicine.
· People who do this treatment are not doctors, they are practitioners.
These frogs are abundant across the Upper Amazon rain-forest areas of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, French Guiana, Suriname and Venezuela.

Vittorio Erspamer, an Italian scientist, who is person to discover Serotonin, nominated twice for Nobel Prize, analyzed this secretion in a laboratory for the first time amazed by its effect. The peptides in the secretion:
Dermorphin: Dermorphin has an opiate like effect on mu-opioid receptors, making it a very potent painkiller with effects 30-40 times stronger than morph.
Deltorphin - Deltorphin is also a powerful painkiller and delta opioid agonist.
Phyllomedusin - A neuropeptide (possible to link to wikipedia page on neuropeptides?) that has a powerful effect on intestines and bowels, contributing to the purging often experienced when taking kambo.
Phyllokinin - This neuropeptide can cause a long lasting reduction in blood pressure.
Phyllocaerulein - Another potent painkiller that reduces blood pressure and affects thermoregulation.
Adenoregulin - A 33 amino acid peptide that works with the adenosine receptor. This antibiotic peptide can have harm-reducing effects against a myriad of bacteria, fungi, and protozoa, including cancer cells.

Kambo ceremony
Preparation:
· FASTING: You are not supposed to take any food for 8 hours prior to ceremony.
· If treatment is in the AM - you can have 1 herbal tea or water when you wake up to hydrate but two hours prior to the treatment, your stomach should be empty.
· If you are getting treatment in the afternoon - You can have a smoothy for breakfast and sip tea with honey until treatment (to maintain energy) - but NOTHING 2 hours prior.
· Eat well and hydrate the day prior - and again after kambo.
· After the ceremony, take healthy food and hydrate enough.\No need for any fasting after the ceremony.
· Refrain from taking supplements/ medications on the morning of the session. You can take them later in the day.
· It is best to abstain from alcohol 24 – 48 hours prior to the ceremony, depending on the amount consumed.
· If possible...Please refrain from alcohol 3 days after. This is not because of danger... But alcohol can make for an uncomfortable treatment and this helps show respect for the medicine.
TREATMENT:
