Kambo Sessions

Preparation

Preparation is essential for a safe, effective, and meaningful Kambo ceremony.

Arriving well-informed and ready ensures you gain the maximum benefit from your experience while honoring your body and the medicine.

By following a few simple but important guidelines, you help create the best environment for healing, clarity, and transformation during your session.

Common Sensations

Overwhelming nausea is almost universal among participants, and purging through vomiting or other means is highly likely. Additional effects may include a tingling sensation throughout the body, a feeling of pressure in the head, neck, and torso, along with dry mouth, inflammation of the throat, difficulty moving freely, and swelling of the lips.

These intense symptoms typically resolve quickly and are naturally followed by a period of rest and comfort, allowing the body to recover gently.

Immediate After-Effects

Rest and integration naturally begin as soon as the acute symptoms start to subside. Some individuals experience a profound, deep nap, while others feel an immediate sense of refreshment and renewal.

Many people commonly report experiencing enhanced physical strength, sharpened senses, an elevated mood, and a clear, focused mind during this phase of recovery.

Longer Term Benefits

Over the following days, many individuals notice lasting improvements, including enhanced clarity, sharper focus, greater resilience to stress, fewer instances of illness, and meaningful emotional release.

Engaging in multiple sessions spaced closely together, such as three consecutive treatments or three within a single lunar cycle, often helps to deepen and amplify these positive changes.

What Should I Expect?

Intensity & Duration

Kambo’s effects are intense but brief, usually lasting 30–40 minutes, with the most challenging phase between 10–15 minutes.

Expect a rapid rise in temperature, sweating, shivers, and rapid heartbeat. Blood pressure may fluctuate, and sensations like tingling, burning, or a “drunken high” are common.

Diet & Hydration

Eat healthy, nutrient-rich meals and stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water both the day before and after your session.

It is important to avoid any prolonged fasting or detox cleanses beyond the recommended 8-hour fasting period to ensure the best possible results from your experience.

Alcohol, Supplements & Medications

Avoid consuming alcohol for at least 24 to 48 hours before your ceremony, and it is highly recommended to extend this abstinence to 3 days following the session.

On the morning of your ceremony, refrain from taking any supplements or medications unless specifically directed otherwise by your practitioner.

ou may resume taking them later in the day if necessary.

What to Bring & Wear

Bring a blanket and a pillow to ensure maximum comfort throughout the ceremony, and choose loose, comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement and relaxation.

It is recommended to wear glasses instead of contact lenses, as Sananga eye drops might be applied during the session.

Additionally, women might find it more comfortable to wear a sports bra if they decide to participate in a chakra treatment, providing better support and convenience.
